Weekend events scheduled at Flight 93 Memorial

The Flight 93 National Memorial in southwestern Pennsylvania is holding a series of public events leading up to the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The National Park Service says programs on Saturday will examine how children experienced 9/11, and feature journalists who created the first records from the crash site.
On Sunday members of the FBI will talk about their work at the site, and people who were in Washington, D.C. that day will describe their experiences.

United Flight 93 was traveling from Newark, N.J. when it was hijacked. The 9/11 Commission said the terrorists likely wanted to crash the plane into the White House or the U.S. Capitol, but the jet went down in a field near Shanksville, Pa., after passengers fought back.
