Students at Dallastown Area High School in York, Pa., have mastered the art of cyberwarfare, winning a regional round of a cyber security competition organized by the Air Force Association.

The Dallastown team is composed of members of the school’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC, and they will face off against other youth cyber defense teams.

The competition challenges students to find ways to ward off mock cyber attacks. The team must correctly install antiviral and malware protection, check for vulnerable outside access points and perform other Internet security jobs within a certain time period. The team moves on to the next phase of the competition next month.
