Waterfront advocates take issue with the SugarHouse expansion parking plans

SugarHouse Casino has submitted multiple plans for its expansion, both of which include changes to parking, and neither of which the Central Delaware Advocacy Group is thrilled with.

What was once to be a 10-story parking garage is now a proposed six-story garage atop a ground floor space, as PlanPhilly reports, and the Fishtown casino wants to keep its options open by retaining surface parking and leaving open the possibility of expanding toward Delaware Avenue.

In response, CDAG has drafted a letter to the City Planning Commission, which is meeting next week and must approve the casino expansion before it moves forward.
