New data shows that the moon has more water than we thought, but is it brimming with water? Not quite, but it turns out that there is a lot more water than expected. However, the amount of water is not like what we know of Mars… the sheer size of the moon rules that out. Could this lead to bases on the moon for long term residences? Last Wednesday European explorer Mars Express made a close pass of one of the Martian moons Phobos. High resolution images will give us more information. Another craft, New Horizons, last in a series of planetary explorers will arrive at Pluto in 2015. Also, what to expect in the night sky this week. [audio: st20100308.mp3]
