Bike race video: Men’s final lap on Manayunk’s Main Street

This is a small portion of the final lap of the men’s TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship. You will see the lead pack heading into the commercial corridor of Manayunk’s Main Street. As the bikes passed a few bikes collided on right side of the road. You cannot see the crash on the video.

I heard the crash and ran about 30 yards to where the pile-up occurred. I thought I would see riders and their bikes on the ground. Surprisingly, the riders were already standing up and preparing to dash off. (About ten seconds of me running to the crash site were edited out because all you can see is the sidewalk)

Unfortunately one racer lost a lot of time because his bike had to be replaced with a back-up from his team’s car. You may notice that the road is wet because it did rain before the racers entered Manayunk on their final lap.
