Veiled attempt

For a long time, would-be female armed bandits have been desperately searching for something to conceal their identities that’s more feminine than the standard ski mask.  Well, one woman in Delaware has the answer: a veil!

A woman wearing a blue veil reportedly tried to hold up a jewelry counter in a North Wilmington Kohl’s Department Store.

Authorities say the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when the woman approached the jewelry counter, picking out a watch to purchase. When a clerk rang up the sale, police say the woman said she didn’t have any money. Police say she opened her purse, displaying what appeared to be a silver handgun, and tried to open the register. The clerk tried to call for help, but the suspect allegedly knocked the phone out of her hand. The veiled woman ran out of the store empty-handed.

A woman matching that description also held up a JCPenney clerk on Sunday at Christiana Mall, fleeing with cash and merchandise.
