Valentine’s Day marks an anniversary for ENIAC

Today marks the 65th anniversary of ENIAC. While the hearts of nerds and computer programmers alike just skipped a beat, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer has some serious Philadelphia significance.

ENIAC debuted at the University of Pennsylvania on Feb. 14, 1946. Today, Radio Times host Marty Moss-Coane will talk with University of Pennsylvania computer scientist Mitch Marcus and writer Jane Smiley. Smiley’s new book, The Man Who Invented the Computer, profiles ENIAC’s supposed creator John Atanasoff.

    Listen live at 11 a.m. on 91FM.
