Upper Darby police charge 14-year-old with six burglaries

Drexel Hill residents are interested in forming a town watch group after police made an arrest this weekend in a series of burglaries.

A 14-year-old boy faces juvenile charges for breaking into six homes. The Delaware County Times reports he was caught when a police officer spotted him sporting a backpack fitting the description of the suspect’s. In it was a video game system he’d just stolen from a home.

The teen is charged with at least six break-ins, though others have been reported. In those six alone, $4,800 in cash, $20,500 in jewelry and two guns were reported missing.
