Unseasonably warm temperatures for Tuesday, Wednesday

Warm air will surge through the region Tuesday and Wednesday, forecasters say.
A southerly flow will develop ahead of a cold front that will approach the area on Wednesday, leading to daytime high temperatures around 80 degrees for most (slightly cooler at the coast) on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
With partly sunny skies, Tuesday will be the nicest day of the two, as clouds will build on Wednesday.
The increasing moisture generated by the warm flow may also result in patchy low clouds or fog during the evening hours Tuesday into Wednesday.
As the cold front moves through late Wednesday into Thursday, showers will develop, and thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and heavy rain are possible.
Conditions then improve for Friday, when temperatures will drop slightly to near normal (middle 60s) for mid-October, according to NOAA.
