The University of Delaware’s Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting tomorrow afternoon to vote on the school’s next president.

The 15-member search committee tasked with recruiting UD’s new leader included: university trustees, faculty members, one student, one parent, one dean and was co-chaired by Terri Kelly, CEO of W.L. Gore & Associates, and Don Puglisi, a professor emeritus of business.

In March, Patrick Harker, the university’s former president, announced he was leaving his post to head up the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He served as UD’s president for eight years.

Nancy Targett was named interim president while the university searched for a permanent replacement. Targett was the dean of UD’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment.
