Union signs 22-year-old soccer star as part of free transfer deal

    Freddy Adu just turned 22, but the Maryland resident is probably more excited about his next career move.

    Adu got into pro soccer at age 14, and he’s now the newest member of the Chester-based Philadelphia Union team.

     

    Named an MLS all-star before hitting the legal driving age, the Ghana native has played for D.C. United and Real Salt Lake, and spent time in Portugal, France, Greece and Turkey.
