Unexpected heavy snow causing problems on NJ roadways

Heavier than expected snow is currently falling throughout South Jersey, and it’s causing problems on many roadways. 

Toms River Police Chief told Lakewood Scoop that there were over 20 motor vehicle accidents in Toms River before 1 p.m. today. 

Police closed the Delaware Memorial Bridge early this afternoon due to numeous accidents. 

At 2 p.m., Jersey Shore Hurricane News contributors report dangerous conditions on the Garden State Parkway south of I-195 and local, county, and state roadways. Monitor JSHN for the latest.

As of 1:36pm, there’s Weather related on the Delaware Memorial Bridge in both directions between New Jersey Side in Carneys Point Twp and Delaware Side in New Castle. All lanes temporarily closed due to salting on the bridge.
As of 1:31pm, there’s Weather related on the Atlantic City Expressway westbound from Atlantic City Convention Center/Eastern Terminus in Atlantic City to Exit 44 – NJ 168 in Washington Twp snow equipment in use, speed reduction is at 35 m.p.h. please drive carefully.
