Unauthorized tests

The Associated Press reports Synthesis Inc., a medical device company in West Chester, will admit today to conducting unauthorized tests of one of their products on spine patients, three of whom died.

The company reportedly tested its bone cement on 200 patients from 2002 to 2004.

Four executives have pleaded guilty and could get jail time, and the company will pay 23 million dollars in fines.
