UDel. wants more state funding for lab rehabilitation

The University of Delaware is asking state lawmakers for money for its lab rehabilitation.

Gov. Jack Markell recommended $3 million in funding. The Associated Press reports the university wants an addition $12 million.

President Pat Harker went before the Bond Committee yesterday to explain the costs of infrastructure upgrades to labs in Newark and Lewes. Harker said the school also needs more financial aid to be more affordable for Delaware residents.
