UD measures southern Delaware rainfall amounts and wind gusts

Which town in Delaware had the most rain during Hurricane Irene?  Where were the highest wind gusts?  UD has some answers.

The Delaware Environmental Observing System tracks conditions to help state and local emergency planners.  According to its measurements, Ellendale got the most rain, at 10.43 inches.  Dover was also hard hit, with 8.79 inches of rain.  New Castle got 7.32 inches.  Peak wind gusts of 49.4 miles-per-hour were measured one mile north of Indian River Inlet.  Inland, Milford received a gust of 47.1 m.p.h.  CLICK HERE for more from the UD DEOS..
