Two teens charged with robbing a 72-year old in Germantown

Philadelphia Police announced Friday that two teenagers have been arrested in connection to a robbery that recently unfolded inside a Chinese restaurant in Germantown.

Tyrell Langford, 19, of the 400 block of East Ashmead Street, has been charged with robbery and related offenses in connection to a robbery that occurred on the 100 block of Chelten Avenue on June 29.

The name of Langford’s accomplice, a 16-year-old male, was not released because of his juvenile status. The youth is being similarly charged.

According to police, the two males entered the Chinese restaurant at 5:30 p.m. and assaulted a 72 year-old man while he was picking up his take-out order.

One of the offenders punched the victim, knocking him to the floor. One of the suspects then took the man’s wallet.

The suspects fled on foot towards Knox Street.
