The search continues for two boat passengers who were aboard the Duck Boat that collided with a barge in the Delaware River yesterday, and as time passes, hopes of finding the missing tourists grows slimmer.

The accident has drawn officials and curious observers to the water.

Delaware County resident Jonathan Carson sits by the water looking out at the boats as the sun pounds down.

“On my way to work, I had a little time to kill and I was moved about the events of yesterday,” Carson said.  “I normally come down here cause it’s a great place to think but was compelled to come down here and just give a little prayer for the families of the missing victims and stuff.”

Carson says he’s caught himself looking closely at the small objects floating on the river.

“They’re in God’s Hands now.  It’s comforting but still a loss of life’s a loss of life.  Especially young people – their lives cut short.”

Carson says a friend of his runs a daycare in West Philadelphia, and she frequently takes the children for Duck Boat rides.  He says she called him after the accident to say she wasn’t on the boat because she decided to take the kids earlier in the week.
