Two sentenced in home invasion on elderly Pa. woman

    The grandson of a 95-year-old woman and his friend have been sentenced to prison terms in a home invasion and assault of the elderly victim in her northeast Philadelphia home earlier this year.

    Twenty-eight-year-old Gregory Drobish was sentenced Friday to 3½ to 7 years in prison In the March 3 break-in after pleading guilty to burglary, robbery and other counts.

    In a separate hearing, 31-year-old Christopher Brunkel was sentenced to 13 to 26 years in a plea agreement after guilty pleas to charges including aggravated assault, robbery, and burglary.

    The Philadelphia Inquirer said Drobish tearfully apologized and Brunkel also apologized for his actions.

    Prosecutors sought a 10- to 20-year prison term for Drobish, but the judge called him a “passive” participant.

    Defense attorneys for both men blamed drug addiction.
