Jersey Shore communities continue to receive accolades from national publications.

Late last year, Travel + Leisure magazine ranked Asbury Park as number 10 in a list of 50 destinations to travel, ranging from the tropical Andaman Islands off India to Douro Valley in Portugal and everything in between.

In April, Ocean City was voted the “best beach town” in the United States by Coastal Living Magazine.

And now, Travel + Leisure is once again bestowing honors on the Jersey Shore as its readers have voted Cape May and Atlantic CIty as among 15 of the country’s favorite beach towns in the publication’s “America’s Favorite Places” survey.

The magazine describes Atlantic City, which is ranked number 11, as becoming more family-friendly after the closure of casinos and a decline in gaming revenues. At number 9, the publication says Cape May’s “compact town center, chock full of antique stores, fudge shops, and local boutiques keep families coming back year after year.”

Among others, the Jersey Shore communities join Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, Traverse City, Michigan, Naples, Florida on the list.

The magazine’s readers ranked Provincetown, Massachusetts as the top beach town.
