Turbine shuts down at Salem 2 reactor site

    A turbine at South Jersey’s Salem 2 nuclear reactor has shut down, sending the reactor offline.

    According to the Associated Press, the automatic shutdown occurred Friday morning, and the plant’s operator is still working to determine the cause.

    Officials say the shutdown does not pose a safety threat to the public.
