Truck fire snarls traffic in downtown Point Beach
Fuel cleanup following a truck fire is causing delays in downtown Point Beach late Thursday morning.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which broke out mid-morning Thursday, said Jerry Meaney, a local first aider and editor of the popular Facebook page, Barnegat Bay Island, NJ.
There were no injuries, he said.
Arnold Avenue, the main roadway through the downtown area, and surrounding streets were temporary closed shortly before 11 a.m. due to fuel in the roadway, Meaney said, adding that Ocean County Road Department workers were sanding the impacted streets.
