Train hits, kills person in suburban Philadelphia

    A person has been killed by a train in suburban Philadelphia.

    The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Fernwood-Yeadon Station on the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s Media-Elwyn Line in Delaware County.

    Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim or say how the accident happened.

    Nearly 100 passengers were transferred from the train to SEPTA buses.
