Tornado Warning for portion of Cape May County

    Take shelter if you’re in Cape May County.

    The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for the county until 4:15 p.m. 

    The storm, which is capable of producing a tornado as indicated by radar, is moving east at 45 miles per hour and will impact the Avalon area around 3:50 p.m.

    “Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Three damage is likely,” the warning bulletin states.

    It is not immediately known if a tornado was spotted. 

    The National Weather Service advises anyone in the storm’s path to take shelter within an interior room.
