Top 4 stories to watch in NW Philly this week

Here’s a look at what’s to come on NewsWorks this week:

1. The second season of Mt. Airy USA’s Moonlight Movies series is kicking off Friday. Similar to last summer, films will be screened on the side of Lovett Memorial Library on Germantown Avenue. New this year will be guest food vendors and accompanying bistro tables outside the park site.

2. East Mount Airy Neighbors will hold its “Swing Into Summer” event on Saturday inside The Gathering Place on Germantown Avenue. The civic fundraiser will feature food and an evening of music, including a jazz trio during dinner.

3. After months of waiting, Wired Beans Café will open its second location within the next two weeks. The grand opening at Chelten Plaza, near the regional-rail stop, is slated for June 30 but could be earlier. Wired Beans opened its first space in Mount Airy on Germantown Avenue.
