Here’s a look at what to come on NewsWorks this week:

1. Last week, officials with Camelot Schools told NewsWorks that the private education company is interested in using Germantown High School’s now-shuttered building. The Philadelphia School District confirmed, adding that Camelot wants to lease the property to house all three of its city programs. But what do near neighbors think of this potential use? Check back this week to find out.

2. A proposed Subway location in Mt. Airy has drawn considerable neighborhood concern. As it stands, the shop would be take-out only and stay open until 10 p.m. every night. Residents worry about loitering, trash and traffic congestion. The business, however, could be on track to open sometime this month. Check back this week for more details.

3. A Germantown resident has big ideas for a vacant, neighborhood building. A performance venue, recording studio or a radio station are just a few of them. Negotiations for the space are running full steam ahead. Check back this week for more details.

4. Summertime is a social time. With that in mind, Roxborough’s Salvation Army has organized a day camp for seniors. It’s a chance for the neighborhood’s older residents to get out of the heat, but also to make new friends, exercise and take field trips. Check back this week for a preview of the week-long camp.

5. The woods of the Wissahickon are home to a number of bird species. Recently, however, a less familiar fowl has been sighted. Check back next week to learn more about why a bald eagle has decided to perch inside Fairmount Park.
