Authorities in Toms River are investigating a recent armed robbery outside of a seafood restaurant.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, Sept. 26, police responded to the Red Lobster at 1298 Hooper Avenue in reference to a robbery, according to Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.

Police determined that a man and woman were about to enter a vehicle when two black males approached, Stocco said in a release.

One of the “approached from behind and put a gun to the back of the man’s head and demanded money,” Stocco added.

The two men then entered the vehicle and removed cash, according to Stocco.

Police describe the two men, who fled in an older model four door gray sedan driven by a third black man, as clean shaven and appropriately six feet tall.
