Toms River police seek information in locating armed robbery suspect

The Toms River Police Department is seeking information regarding an armed robbery at a Route 37 business Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 9 p.m., multiple police units responded to the Got Sun Tanning Salon located at 1214 Route 37 East on a report of a robbery, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for Toms River Police Department.

A 23-year-old male employee told police that a man entered the store and went behind the reception desk, threatening him with a box cutter, Stocco said.

The suspect demanded all of the money from the register before fleeing out the rear door into a parking lot with an undetermined amount of cash, according to Stocco.
