Toms River man faces drug charges after Friday morning raid

    A 33-year-old Toms River man is in police custody after a drug raid, authorities announced. 

    The Toms River Police Departments Emergency Services Unit and Special Enforcement Team executed a court authorized search warrant at 2400 Adams Ave in Toms River early Friday morning, said Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco.

    Scott Mays, the investigation target who resides at the house, was found in possession of approximately one pound of marijuana, oxycodone, and nearly $5,000, according to Stocco.

    Police also found a scale and packaging material used to measure and distribute marijuana, Stocco added.

    Mays, who has prior felony convictions for drug possession, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Stocco said. 

    He is currently being held on $20,000 bail.
