It’s graduation season. Let’s hope that diploma helps our graduates find success. What do you think they need above all else to make that happen?
It’s graduation season. Doorways are festooned with CONGRATULATIONS banners. Radiant polyester gowns, to be worn only once, are sweeping across lawns and auditorium stages where graduates will shake hands, grab a diploma, smile big for the camera.
And later this summer, many of those graduates will be moving on to the next step, whatever that may be. High school grads may go off to college. College grads may move on to a new town and new job prospects — we hope. Maybe they’re moving back in with mom and dad. Maybe they never left home.
Whatever the circumstances, we’re hopeful that the years and experiences that led to that diploma or degree have given our graduates the skills, confidence, ambition — something — to push themselves forward to Better Things.
So let’s offer some advice. What do you think our graduating sons and daughters, neices and nephews, grandkids, and neighbors need above all else to make that happen?
