Three injured after tent collapses at Ocean County Fair during thunderstorm

    Three people were injured after an intense thunderstorm blew threw the Ocean County Fair at the Robert J. Miller Airpark in Berkeley Tuesday evening, authorities said. 

    A tent collapsed during the storm, which delivered gusty winds to portions of Ocean County, according to a posting on the South Toms River Volunteer First Aid & Rescue Squad Facebook page.

    Three suffered minor injuries following the collapse, the posting said. Two were transported to a local hospital by Beachwood EMS and Bayvile EMS. 

    All EMS companies were providing coverage at the fair when the incident occurred. South Toms River members remained until the was cleared by Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
