Three cars were reported stolen during the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival this year.

On Friday, June 17, a woman attending the Festival reported that her 2002 Mazda Millenia was stolen from the 7500 block of Ogontz Ave.

On the last day the Festival, Sunday, June 19. a woman said her 2000 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from 21st St. and Ogontz Ave. (Those streets do not intersect but this is what was reported to the police)

On Monday, June 20 a man reported that his 1995 Volkswagon Jetta was stolen over the weekend while he attended the Jazz Festival. He said he parked his car at 21st St. and 73rd Ave.

June 15, 2011

1900 block Haines St. – complainant told police that two male offenders tried to rape her in a schoolyard. She said she fought off the offenders and fled.

Unit block E. Chelten Ave. – Android cell phone stolen from a McDonald’s restaurant. Complainant said a male offender forcefully took the item from his pocket.

Unit block W. Chelten Ave. – complainant said a group of male offenders jumped him and stole $20 from his pocket. One of the offenders was later arrested.

7400 block Sprague St. – three Macbook computers, two computer chargers and two iPods stolen from the property.

Unit block Valley Green Road – iPhone 4 stolen from the location. Complainant said he was swimming and had left his pants lying on the ground. When he returned, the item was missing.

 

June 16, 2011

6100 block Stenton Ave. – pocketbook, cell phone and a charger stolen at the location.

900 block E. Johnson St. – 2000 Mercury Gran Marquis stolen.

100 block Pleasant St. – dining room set, patio set, table, microwave table, microwave, blender, curtain rods and curtain panels stolen from the property.

100 block E. Cliveden St. – a 2006 Cadillac was set on fire by an unknown offender.

500 block E. Queen Lane – complainant said he was shot in the right foot after hearing about 10 gunshots. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

7500 block Boyer St. – 20 pills stolen from the property. Complainant said the offender, who works for her, confessed that she has a drug problem.

 

June 17, 2011

7500 block Ogontz Ave. – 2002 Mazda Millenia was stolen. Complainant said she was at the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival at the time.

Forrest Ave. / Middleton St. – five men were arrested for stealing wheel rims from the complainant’s 2010 Chevy Camaro.

74th Ave. / N. 20th St. – 2001 Nissan Altima was stolen, but recovered prior to police report.

Unit block W. Chelten Ave. – Two men robbed a Metro PCS store at gunpoint.

8200 block Forrest Ave. – a delivery driver said two men robbed him at gunpoint while he was working. The offenders fled with $130 and a pizza.

Unit block Valley Green Road – iPod Nano, Samsung cell phone and $5 stolen from a 2002 Chevy Malibu.

 

June 18, 2011

78th Ave. / Ogontz Ave. – complainant said an unknown offender hit him in the head with a brick. Complaiant said he never saw the offender before the incident.

900 block E. Haines St. – gas lawnmower stolen from the property between 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. June 17.

4900 block Baynton St. – complainant said a known offender punched her in the face. She said later a group of approx. five females attacked the complainant. One of the offenders hit the complainant in the face with an unknown object, causing her to blackout. Complainant was taken to the hospital where she received stitches.

Unit block E. Clapier St. – Prada pocketbook stolen from the property.

5600 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said a female offender punched her on the right side of the head, and then pulled her off the bus by her hair. Complainant said a male offender also grabbed her cell phone out of her pocket. Both offenders fled the scene.

5100 block Lena St. – complainant said a known offender broke into her home, kicked her dog and punched her in the head. Complainant then fled the house. Offender then chased after her and attempted to hit her in the head with a brick. Offender was gone before police arrived.

200 block Harvey St. – Sony laptop, Wii system, watch, book bag and Wii games stolen from the property.

600 block Park Lane – copper pipes were stolen from the property.

1200 block Sydney St. – Mac laptop stolen from the property. Complainant said her brother took the item after a dispute.

8000 block Winston Road – diamond black pearl necklace, iPod and $450 stolen from the property.

 

June 19, 2011

1300 block E. Johnson St. – 1995 Mazda 626 stolen. Complainant said her ex-boyfriend took the car out of her garage without her permission.

Belfield Ave. / E. Penn St. – 2011 Ford Focus was stolen.

400 block E. Rittenhouse St. – complainant said two male offenders hit him with a silver baseball bat. Offenders then fled in a Mercury Grand Marquis with $200 they stole from the complainant. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

5300 block Wakefield St. – complainant said a known offender stole her laptop.

5900 block Germantown Ave. – 1989 Oldsmobile was stolen.

 

June 20, 2011

69th Ave. / Ogontz Ave. – complainant said an unknown offender punched her, threw her to the ground and kicked her. Offender ran off with the complainant’s iPAD.

5600 block Boyer St. – $290 stolen from a bar at the location between 1:48-8 a.m. June 20.

1900 block 72nd Ave. – complainant said his friend’s girlfriend kicked over his bike and swung at him with a pair of scissors. Offender fled afterwards.

300 block Shedaker St. – 46″ Sony flat screen TV, Zune Mp3 player, two Dell laptops, jewelry and $600 stolen from the property between 8:10-11:15 a.m.

21st St. / Ogontz Ave. – 2000 Hyundai Elantra was stolen. Complainant said the car was taken while she was at the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival.

1000 block W. Cliveden St. – 20″ Samsung flat screen, HP laptop, Dell laptop, iPod, iPod Touch, Nintendo DS, $260, two Seiko watches, Bose radio and more stolen from the property.

1000 block Livezey Lane – purse, wallet, driver’s license, prescription medication, camera charger and a TD Bank card stolen from a car between 7:30-9:40 p.m. June 20.

W. Washington Lane / Burbridge St. – 2006 Acura MDX was stolen between 11:30 p.m. June 19 and 8:10 a.m. June 20.

8000 block Lincoln Drive – TomTom GPS stolen from a 2010 Mercury Mariner.

500 block Woodbrook Lane – PS3, Mac laptop, checkbook, Cannondale mountain bike and a hybrid bike stolen from the property.

21st St. / 73rd Ave. – 1995 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen June 18. Complainant said he was at the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival at the time.

 

June 21, 2011

600 block E. Stafford St. – Dell laptop stolen from the property. Complainant said her cousin let a known offender use the bathroom. When he came back downstairs, a witness saw the offender carrying the item out of the door.

400 block E. Haines St. – Big Splash waterslide stolen from complainant’s front yard.

500 block Brinton St. – DVDs, stereo, shoes, DVD player and a converter box stolen from the property.

500 block Brinton St. – Playstation 3, five Playstation games and some clothing stolen from the property.

5300 block Belfield Ave. – complainant said a known offender pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her. Offender was arrested.

400 block E. Penn St. – Dell laptop, cell phone, iPod, $180 and various tools stolen from a car.

6000 block Greene St. – offender kicked a police car and struck an officer in the chest and arms. Offender was arrested.

Germantown Ave. / E. Chelten Ave. – complainant said a known offender stabbed him in the right arm with an ink pen.

200 block W. Haines St. – complainant said his wife threw a black ceramic cat at him and struck him in the head with a glass vase. Offender was arrested.

8600 block Forrest Ave. – 2000 Chevy Impala stolen sometime between 5 p.m. June 20 and 5 a.m. June 21.
