The Next Great Baker on tour
The next great baker, Delaware’s Dana Herbert of TLC fame, continues to enjoy the good wishes of the people in Delaware. Herbert met a lot of fans at the DHSS cafe on Dupont Highway. He also had a little news to share.
Herbert was helping to promote the Holloway Cafe on DuPont Highway as a dining option for those who live or work in that area. The big news, however, wasn’t in his tips for food or back stories of the TLC reality show, it was the news that his wife will deliver their daughter by Thursday. He told well wishers that doctors are monitoring her progress, but they would like her to deliver this week.
Herbert has an offer to work with the star of TLC’s Next Great Baker, Buddy Valastro who also stars in “Cake Boss”. Herbert will go there part time because of his business and family obligations.
Friday, he was out to help his friend Prince Johnson who runs “Prince on the Delaware”. It’s a cafe operated under an agreement with the Business Enterprise Program of the state Division for the Visually Impaired. The Delaware Business Enterprise Program is a federal program run by Delaware’s Vocational Rehabilitation Team. BEP trains and licenses Delawareans who are blind and visually impaired to establish and manage food service businesses in public and private facilities.
People came through for about 2 hours to get Herbert’s autograph and to same some of the delicacies he brought over from his restaurant.
