It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays. Our offerings this week definitely have a Christmas theme, so if you’re looking to get into the spirit, look no further!
Saturday: Passyunk Ice Carving
East Passyunk Avenue’s first Annual Arctic Ave. will have you shivering with delight as you explore the world of ice carving. Live carving and sculptures will be displayed up and down East Passyunk along with other activities and entertainment. Next head over to the popular “Miracle on South 13th Street’s” elaborately lit neighborhood homes.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Macy’s light showDon’t miss the traditional light show spectacular at Macy’s in the Historic Wanamaker building! While there, check out “A Christmas Carol” come to life at the the Dickens Christmas Village upstairs. Light show every 2 hours starting at 10 a.m.
Join the Independence Seaport Museum for seasonal, seafarer, family fun at their annual Parade of Lights. A day full of ship themed holiday seasonal activities and special guests ends with the spectacular lighted boat parade at 5:30 p.m. Open 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. — all activities free with museum admission.
Friday & Saturday: Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates
Don’t miss a new family friendly seasonal tradition in the making- Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates by Laura Eason! The story of a brother and sister, a skating contest, and a pair of shiny new skates is sure to please the whole family. Tickets start at $18. $10 off for each new coat donated to Project HOME!
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Adventure Aquarium’s Christmas Celebration
Get ready for some underwater holiday amusement at the Adventure Aquarium’s annual Christmas Celebration. Entertainment and activities throughout the day. Don’t forget to bring your letter to Scuba Santa! Free with admission. Discounted tickets available online only. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
