The 2017 Cherry Hill Volvo Jewish Film Festival is March 19-26

The Cherry Hill Volvo Jewish Film Festival returns for eight days, starting March 19, 2017.

Now in its 12th year, the cinema event features 21 films from seven countries shown in two locations: Katz JCC in Cherry Hill and the Carmike Ritz 16 in Voorhees.

Among the festival highlights is the U.S. premiere of Kellman Brown Academy students’ multi-media Holocaust project, “Better Together ‘Names, Not Numbers’ “, containing interviews with four local survivors.

KYW Newsradio film critic, Bill Wine will be among the guest speakers and will lead a discussion on the crime thriller, “A Grain of Truth”. Chef Ina Pinkey will also be on hand to speak following the screening of “Breakfast at Ina’s”, a documentary about her life and popular Chicago cafe.

Enosh Cassel, producer of “My Hero Brother” and founder of the project with the same name — both centered on taking adults with Downs Syndrome and their siblings on a Himalayan trek — will share insights from his own personal experience with his brother, Hannan.

Other films include The Women’s Balcony, Midnight Orchestra, Wounded Land, Fever at Dawn, Peter the 3rd and Mr. Predictable, plus comedic, dramatic and documentary shorts.

Entry to all films can be accessed through a Series ticket, which costs $140 for guests ($100 for JCC members). A Five Film Pass costs $60 ($40 for JCC members) and grants access to any five films during the festival.
