Teenage suspect surrenders in murder of young Overbook mother
A teenage suspect surrendered today for the weekend shooting death of 31-year-old Hafeezah Nurid-Din in Overbrook.
Daniel Shelley, 19, turned himself in this morning for shooting into a crowd of people while Nurid-Din walked nearby with her father, Action News reports. Shelly, who lived just blocks from Nurid-Din, will be charged in the young mother’s death.
Juanita Jones yesterday described Nurid-Din as “A very wonderful, professional, loving, understanding, career-oriented person. A mother–she recently had a baby and it’s just saddened our hearts.”
Nurid-Din leaves behind four children and the daycare center where she worked.
