Teen killed in crash is niece of Chester County commissioner
Police have identified the victim of a weekend crash in Chester County as the niece of County Commission Kathi Cozzone. Jesika Kavanagh, 19, was killed Saturday night in the Downingtown crash.
According to a report from the West Chester Daily Local, the 17-year-old driver of a pickup was traveling north on Glenside Avenue as it veered into the southbound lanes and struck Kavanagh’s BMW.
Kavanagh’s boyfriend and his father were traveling with her and sustained injuries. The pickup driver was treated for injuries, and his passenger refused treatment. It’s unclear whether charges will be filed against the pickup driver.
