Teachers Union heads to court to defend Hope Moffett

Philadelphia Federation of Teachers President Jerry Jordan is in court today to defend Hope Moffett. Moffett faces termination from the School District of Philadelphia after giving students tokens to leave school to attend a protest of their high school converting to a charter.

Moffett was removed from Audenried High School last month and sent to work in a room in the basement of Strawberry Mansion High School. She attended a School Reform Commission hearing earlier this week, where the district says it had a record of other anonymous complaints about her.

Jordan is asking for a restraining order, the Notebook reports, on behalf of the entire PFT.
