Tea Party brings fight to freshman Congressman Lance in N.J. primary

Freshman Congressman Leonard Lance faces a challenge from three Tea Party-affiliated conservatives.
Businessman Bruce Baker of Westfield says he’s in the race because he’s disgusted with career politicians and supports shrinking the size of government. He believes the Tea Party will be influential in determining the outcome of the primary.
“My thinking is that we’re going to have a larger turnout than normal because of them and of course a larger turnout than normal does not help the incumbent,” Baker said.
Lon Hosford of Alexandria Township and David Larsen of Tewkesbury are also seeking the Republican nomination. Political analysts say any anti-Lance vote may be split among the three opponents and help Lance win the primary.
The winner will face Democrat Ed Potosnak (poe-toz-nick) in November
