Taylor Swift to attend the CMAs without local high school senior
When Sterling High School Senior, Kevin McGuire asked out Taylor Swift to the prom, he probably never expected the outcome, a facebook fan page that garnered tens of thousands of supporters.
According to NBC10, McGuire was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 13, but believed he had beaten the disease, two years ago, but recently learned his cancer had returned.
Though Swift declined the invite, she instead asked him to accompany her to the Country Music Awards, which will be held tonight, April 1.
But, McGuire will not be attending this evening’s event, as he was admitted to the hospital on Friday night.
Swift promised, via Twitter, to make it up to him.
