Taxing business

Philadelphia City Council members Bill Green and Maria Quinones-Sanchez agree with Mayor Nutter on at least one aspect of business taxes: gross receipts.

The three have agreed the first $100,000 of a business’ sales should be exempt from the tax. In Off the Mic today, Dave Davies explores the other proposals the two council members are pushing and what they could mean for businesses in Philadelphia. A hearing on the matter, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed.
