Tastykake CEO to take on reduced role following sale

Some say Tastykakes lost a little something when they moved from their Hunting Park Avenue plant way down Broad Street to the Navy Yard. It remains to be seen what effect Georgian ownership will have, but new owner, Flowers Foods, confirmed Tasty Baking CEO Charles Pizzi is going to have a reduced role.

The Business Journal reports Pizzi will act as a cosultant during integration, and as a longterm adviser to Flowers. Paul Ridder, Senior Vice President and CFO of Tasty Baking, will be president of the company’s Philadelphia operations.

For a profile of Pizzi and his history at Tasty Baking, check out this feature story in last month’s Philly Mag.
