Sweeney won’t run for N.J. governor in 2013
N.J. Senate President Stephen Sweeney confirmed today that he will not seek a Democratic gubernatorial bid. He is the latest in a line of high-profile members of his party, including Sen. Richard Codey (D-Essex), who have rejected the notion of a run against popular Republican Gov. Chris Christie.
Sen. Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex) is the only major Democratic contender so far.
Does this clear the decks for Christie’s re-election run? More from Phil Gregpry later today.
