Suspicious package turns out to be a fruit basket

An observant and perhaps overly cautious bus driver called the New Jersey State Police Tuesday night after he spotted what he thought was a suspicious package on his bus while stopped at a Bridgeton Wawa.

The police pulled out all the stops, bringing in the arson and bomb unit to investigate, the News of Cumberland County reports.

Police shut down the Wawa and part of Route 77 as a remote-controlled robot slowly moved through the bus to find and detonate the package.

Turns out the suspicious package was a fruit basket, which surely made a sticky mess inside the bus and probably looked something like this.
