Suspect sought in Friday bank robbery in Brick

    Police in Brick are searching for a man who they say robbed a township bank late Friday afternoon.

    The robbery occurred at Santander Bank on Beaverson Bouelvard around 5:45 p.m. Friday, when a man entered the bank, approached the teller, and demanded money, before fleeing on foot westbound along Beaverson Boulevard, police said. 

    No weapon was shown, police said.

    The suspect is described as white or hispanic, approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall and between 145 and 165 pounds, wearing a black and blue checkered hat, jeans, sneakers, a stocking concealing his face, and a dark khaki colored jacket or zippered sweatshirt with a hood, according to police. The man was carrying a dark purple or eggplant colored plastic bag.

    The Brick Township Police Detective Bureau, Criminal Investigation Unit, and K-9 Unit responded to the scene.
