Surveying Sandy’s damage and clean-up efforts in Atlantic City

    Hurricane Sandy was long gone by Thursday, but the havoc she wreaked remained. Photographer Peter Tobia ventured into Atlantic City to survey the damage and witness the clean-up efforts.

    The city’s casinos were given permission to re-open Friday. Across the Jersey Shore, the hardest-hit towns are still in recovery mode. Many are still without power, and authorities are trying to remove the water from neighborhoods and replace the sand the fierce waves swallowed up.
