Sunoco, Conoco-Phillips refinery sold Monday
Monday was a busy day for the oil industry.
First came the news that Sunoco will be sold to the Texas-based Energy Transfer. That deal went down for $5.3 billion, just before Delta Airlines announced its own deal to buy the Conoco-Phillips refinery in Delaware County.
So what does this mean for local employees of both companies? Sunoco’s largest distribution operation will stay in Philadelphia and its refineries are still up for sale. Fewer details have been released about the Conoco deal and the price tag for the Trainer, Delaware County, facility.
