It’s Friday, and with the beach weather expected to be nice all day, it’s an excellent opportunity for a half-day at work. This is the view from moments ago in South Seaside Park.

Unseasonably warm conditions continue today, with highs expected to top out in the low to mid 80s (mid-upper 70s at the coast). It’s currently 72 degrees here in South Seaside Park. While some clouds and showers are possible in the northern half of the state, the southern half should remain sunny. Winds will be light and variable. The ocean temperature is in the mid-upper 60s, and the waves are tiny.

A decent weekend is on tap. Expect a mixture of sun and clouds both days and a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon due to the summer-like temperatures. Temperatures are expected to be in mid-upper 70s along the coast, low-mid 80s inland.

For Monday into Tuesday, the remnants of the tropical system Karen will interact with a cold front and deliver heavy rain to the area.
