Streets Department will continue salting roads

In her continuing coverage of the Streets Department, too much snow and the city’s ability to remove it, Lizz Fiedler shares this information with us from the Department of Streets Commissioner Clarena Tolson: crews plan to attack the roads with a heavy salt operation. Tolson says crews have been dealing with what she calls a “snow sandwich.”

We think she’s comparing the snow-packed roads to an ice cream sandwich. Except the latter is bookended by layers of chocolate instead of snow, snow, ice and more snow.
