Stores extend hours as shopping deadline draws near

    Time is running out for people trying to purchase their last-minute gifts with most major shopping malls shutting down at 6 pm on Christmas Eve. But even though the clock is ticking, there is still plenty of time and places to buy a that last-minute gift.

    The weekend snow put many people behind on their holiday shopping. Elina Kazan is a Macy’s spokesperson. She says their Cherry Hill Mall store is one of a dozen nationwide that has been open 24 hours since the weekend and has seen more than just the stereotypical procrastinator.

    Kazan: You see families out there, you see a lot of people who were either partying late or going to work early, so you see a good cross mix. You would think it would be a lot of guys, but there are definitely a lot of guys who are always those last-minute shoppers.

    Other retailers and shopping malls are offering extended hours and extra amenities as the clock runs out. The King Of Prussia Mall is actually offering a mapping service to give you directions inside the mall once you take your list and check it twice.
