Police/FBI task force releases more images of Stenton Avenue bank robbers

Philadelphia Police and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force on Thursday released images of two robbers who hit the Sovereign Bank branch at 8310 Stenton Ave. two days earlier.

They are seeking the public’s help in identifying and capturing the two suspects who entered the bank just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, “presented a threatening demand note to the teller” and, after getting an undisclosed amount of money, ran off in an unknown direction.

They are described as two thin black males, about 5-foot-10, wearing “black Muslim-like clothing covering their heads and bodies.”

Anybody with information is asked to call 911, the task force at (215) 418-4000 or the tips line at (215) 686-8477. Officials said there may be a reward for information leading to their arrest.
